Visa & ITAS

Investor KITAS 1 Year — Indonesia

Investor ITAS (Izin Tinggal Terbatas) is an official limited stay permit issued to foreign nationals who make investments in Indonesia. Unlike a Work KITAS, the holder of an Investor ITAS is not permitted to actively work at the company — they act solely as shareholders and investors. This 1-year permit provides the legal basis for foreign investors to oversee their investments, attend board meetings, and manage their Indonesian business interests.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Investor ITAS is for shareholders who do not actively work in the company — they can only oversee their investment. Work KITAS is for foreign employees who actively work and receive a salary from an Indonesian company. The Work KITAS requires DPKK and RPTKA approvals, while the Investor ITAS does not.

Estimated processing time is around 2–4 working weeks after all documents are declared complete by immigration. VERALEX CONSULTING handles the entire process and provides regular status updates.

Yes. Official e-ITAS holders can open bank accounts in Indonesia by presenting the ITAS card as proof of legal stay status. Most major banks in Indonesia accept e-ITAS for account opening.

Yes. Spouse and children can apply for a Family ITAS (dependent permit) sponsored by the Investor ITAS holder. This allows the entire family to reside in Indonesia legally.

Converting from Investor ITAS to Work KITAS requires a new application process. The investor would need to obtain DPKK approval and RPTKA from the Ministry of Manpower. We can assist with the conversion process.

If your ITAS expires, you must leave Indonesia or apply for an extension before the expiry date. A 60-day grace period may apply, but overstaying results in fines and potential deportation. It is strongly recommended to renew well before the deadline.
